Fiz o exame de Óptica, Refração e Instrumentos e Ciência Visual em março e tive uma experiência muito positiva. A plataforma era intuitiva e permitia a mudança sem problemas entre inglês e português, o que foi muito útil. O exame foi bem organizado, com uma estrutura clara e navegação fluida ao longo de todo o processo. As questões eram bem concebidas, relevantes clinicamente e alinhadas com a literatura recomendada, o que fez com que a preparação se sentisse mais focada e justa. I was delighted and honoured to achieve a Merit in the FIOF examination, which marks an important step in my ongoing professional development in ophthalmology.  I found the overall experience to be excellent. The application and registration process was well-organised, and easy to navigate. The examination itself was conducted professionally, and the questions were of a high standard, testing both core knowledge and clinical understanding in a fair and clinically relevant manner. I would highly recommend the FIOF examination to trainees and ophthalmologists seeking a rigorous assessment of their ophthalmic knowledge and skills.

The Clinical Ophthalmology exam in March represented an effective test of the knowledge required for an ophthalmologist with a global perspective. The examination embraced all areas of ophthalmology with significant depth, while also covering essential topics regarding public health policies and the metrics used to measure their effectiveness. I am very grateful for this exam, which alongside the Visual Sciences and the Optics, Refraction, and Instruments examinations, enabled me to become the first Brazilian to achieve the status of Fellow of the International Ophthalmology Foundation.

My experience with the Ophthalmology Foundation examinations was excellent and highly rewarding. The Visual Science, Optics & Refraction exam at Al-Kindy Teaching Hospital in Iraq was conducted with a high level of professionalism, organization, and academic rigor. I was particularly impressed by the quality and precision of the assessment process. The online examination was well structured, and the questions were carefully designed to evaluate both theoretical knowledge and clinical understanding. Together with the examination center assessments, the process provided a comprehensive, fair, and reliable evaluation of candidates’ competencies. I am proud to have achieved very good results in these examinations, especially considering that this was the first time the examination had been conducted in Iraq. As the sole candidate sitting the examination at the center, I greatly appreciated the attention given to ensuring a smooth and professional experience. Despite the severe stormy weather and heavy rainfall on the examination day, the center delivered an outstanding experience without any disruption and internet connectivity remained stable throughout, demonstrating remarkable preparation and commitment. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Prof. Dr. Tara Rasheed for her outstanding coordination, encouragement, and support throughout the examination process. Her professionalism and positive attitude created a welcoming and motivating environment. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Ms. Vicky Glossop for her patience, kindness, and continuous support in responding to my many questions and inquiries throughout the preparation and examination period. Her assistance was greatly appreciated. Finally, I would like to thank the entire Ophthalmology Foundation team for their dedication to maintaining high standards in ophthalmic education and assessment. This experience has further motivated me to continue my journey with the Foundation, and I look forward to undertaking the Clinical Examination in pursuit of achieving the FIOF.

After finishing my residency training, I rarely read comprehensive ophthalmology textbooks and instead focused mainly on my daily clinical work. Over time, this not only limited my knowledge but also reduced my curiosity for learning. The Ophthalmology Foundation examination was more of a personal challenge than a formal test for me, and that is what made it interesting. Preparing for the exam encouraged me to revisit many fundamental topics that I had not studied for years. On the examination day, I found that the questions were not designed to be tricky. Instead, they were logical, practical, and relevant to real-world ophthalmology. I would like to thank the Ophthalmology Foundation for organizing this examination in Vietnam and providing local ophthalmologists with the opportunity to participate in an international-standard assessment. Thank you for your efforts in supporting ophthalmology education worldwide.

As an ophthalmologist from Yemen, I particularly valued the opportunity to assess my knowledge against international standards through such a respected examination. Successfully passing the Visual Sciences Examination with MERIT grade was a proud achievement and a valuable milestone in my professional development. I am grateful to the Ophthalmology Foundation and its team for their support and for making this learning opportunity possible.

First of all, I wanted to thank the great and responsive examination team of the International Ophthalmology Foundation. I was supposed to take the optics and visual science exams in Iran; however, due to the war and internet restrictions, I was unable to. I shared my issue with the examination team, and they quickly resolved it by contacting the examination center in Turkey, without any stress or pressure on me. The exam also took place in a comfortable place with kind administrators. The exams were also so comprehensive and clinically relevant in both optics and visual science sections. There were no excessive questions based solely on memorization, without any clinical use. In addition, I really enjoyed the fast marking and results processes. In my opinion, passing the IFO exams might play a significant role in ophthalmologists’ professional CVs as an indicator of an internationally recognized level of ophthalmology knowledge.

It was a pleasure to be part of the Ophthalmology Foundation examination process. The team was incredibly supportive and approachable throughout, and every step was handled smoothly and professionally. The examination experience itself was straightforward and well organized. I am grateful for the positive experience and honored to have earned the FIOF designation.

Today was the FIOF exam, which was conducted at our Institute. I took part in part 1: optics, refraction, and instruments. Experience was fabulous. The exam interface was very user-friendly. Navigation was easy once the login was complete. The level of the questions was also really good, conceptual, demanded basic clarity of concepts, and really opened up the mind. This, I feel, is essential for any resident, as a postgraduate or a fellow, to have a strong and clear foundation. Special thanks to my Institution for making it possible for me to take this exam sitting at my familiar home pitch. This especially alleviates a major apprehension about traveling and staying in a new place, given the cost factor, and helps relax the mind. One can best dream of writing an international exam in one’s own place. All in all, a great experience; would encourage everyone who is eligible to give it a shot. Thanks to OF for bringing out such an affordable and convenient exam pattern to India.

Having previously qualified in the FRCS Glasgow, FRCS Edinburgh, and FRCOphth London examinations, I approached the FIOF Clinical Ophthalmology exam with a reasonably high benchmark. What stood out was the quality of the clinical scenario-based questions — broad in subspecialty coverage and genuinely reflective of real-world practice. Adding the FIOF to an already international credential portfolio is, quite simply, a matter of pride.

Sinto-me muito feliz por ter passado no exame de Ciências Visuais com a nota MERIT. Foi um exame excelente que testou verdadeiramente o conhecimento e a experiência. I was pleased to take part in the Ophthalmology Foundation examination this March. The examination was thoughtfully structured, clinically relevant, and a valuable test of applied ophthalmic knowledge. I particularly appreciated that the questions encouraged reasoning rather than simple recall, which made the experience both engaging and academically meaningful. The process reflected the care and effort of the Ophthalmology Foundation team in developing an assessment with genuine educational value. I had the opportunity to take the Clinical Ophthalmology part of the IOF examinations on 24th September 2025. The process was well-coordinated with excellent communication from Nicola Quilter and Vicky Glossop. The examination was well-structured, and covered all the essential core topics in ophthalmology to assess fundamental knowledge and clinical understanding. The exam is appropriate for ophthalmologists, new-comers and experienced alike. The overall exam experience was very pleasing. I feel honoured being granted the FIOF post-nominal. For the future, I wish that the examination is recognised by other prestigious bodies such as the Royal Collages as well as Medical Licensing bodies. Thank you to the Ophthalmology Foundation for providing me the opportunity to experience the exam, and I wish them the best for all the future endeavours.

I recently received a heartwarming message about passing the clinical ophthalmology exam. For the preparation I used the AOO- CSC volumes, Review of ophthalmology 4th edition, as well as OKAPS review courses and cybersight eye questions as well as other resources. I didn’t leave behind any resource that I judged helpful. I was very anxious in front of the exam due to the recent advanced accreditation of my institution (RIIO) by OF, it was an occasion to prove that we were worth that accreditation. The exam reflected an active participation in daily clinical decision making in front of real patients. And the knowledge required to any young ophthalmologist practicing.

The Ophthalmology Foundation exams is well crafted and structured-staged examinations the cover all aspect of ophthalmology specialties, in the light of general ophthalmology. It is appropriate not only for ophthalmology residents at different stages of the career progression, but also for qualified and practising Ophthalmologists. My wish and advice is that Ophthalmology Foundation Executives and policy makers should as a matter of urgency and necessity make the fellowship certificate recognizable other notable professional bodies like Royal Colleges of ophthalmology, GMC, Ireland, Australia,USA, etc.

O exame de fundação em Oftalmologia oferece a oportunidade para residentes e até mesmo consultores de avaliar seu conhecimento em um exame online muito estruturado e bem formatado. Quanto a mim, atualmente sou um fellow de Retina Cirúrgica e ainda estou em treinamento ativo no Singapore National Eye Center, que decidiu participar deste exame como meio de fortalecer minha oportunidade de se candidatar ao fellowship de subespecialidade do IOFF-OF. For a person practising ophthalmology in a third world country, a lot of questions were things I have only read on and not necessarily seen. A lot were also on world standards so its imperative to read widely. However, the time was adequate and the question pictures were very clear. It was good exposure to international exams and am very grateful for the opportunity.

I had a good experience with the exams at Tulsi Eye Foundation Hospital Nigeria. To IOFF, I say best wishes and I hope this exams has come to stay, to serve as a booster for us to increase our knowledge base in Ophthalmology and also gives us an avenue to collaborate with IOFF family.

The Ophthalmology Foundation International Exams has serve a very important need in bridging every known barriers to accessibility and affordability without compromising international standards of excellence pioneered by giants in the OF faculty, Wilmer and Will’s Eye, to reach every potential future leader in Ophthalmology wherever they may be found. Being achieved through innovations such as a computer-based, examination platform proctor monitoring. The pricing cost was very affordable and considerate.

The examination was a well-structured and professionally designed assessment of ophthalmic knowledge. I took the exam at the Turkish Ophthalmological Association (TOA) headquarters in Istanbul, where the environment was organized and supportive. An invigilator and technical support team were present, and I used the TOA-provided computers without any technical issues. I found the questions to be objective and fair, with a strong emphasis on visual interpretation. I particularly appreciated the large number of image-based questions, which reflect the inherently visual nature of ophthalmology. It is a true honour to have achieved FIOF status. I would like to sincerely thank the OF examination team and TOA for their efforts and support.

After being in medical practice for over 35 years, I came across the Ophthalmology Foundation. I thought I would use their exams as part of my continuing medical education found that preparing for these exams was a good way to refresh and update my knowledge of contemporary ophthalmology. I took visual sciences and optics and refraction exam and It was a unique experience. The questions were well-structured, clinically oriented, and really tested both theoretical knowledge and practical understanding especially optics and refraction questions were very unique. O Departamento de Oftalmologia do Centro Médico da Universidade de Saarland, em Homburg/Saar, na Alemanha, realizou a primeira rodada dos novos Exames OF em março deste ano. Antes disso, ficamos muito animados para ver como os novos exames online seriam percebidos pelos participantes. No dia do exame, tudo correu bem, com suporte técnico disponível o tempo todo e consultas iniciais sobre o sistema online poderiam ser resolvidas imediatamente. Os nossos participantes conseguiram realizar os exames dentro do prazo estabelecido e ficaram muito satisfeitos com a implementação e o apoio no dia do exame. Estamos ansiosos para realizar os próximos exames em setembro.

O exame foi muito bem planejado e a informação fornecida tanto aos administradores responsáveis pelos centros de teste quanto aos candidatos foi extremamente eficiente. O conteúdo dos exames também foi considerado adequado pelos candidatos, com questões claras e objetivas. Vale ressaltar também a rapidez com que os resultados foram disponibilizados aos candidatos. Como Diretor-Geral da Companhia Europeia Internacional de Ensino Superior, Formação e Consultoria em Benghazi, na Líbia, tive o privilégio de coordenar o Exame de Oftalmologia realizado em 26 de março. Este evento marcou um marco histórico — a primeira vez que um exame médico tão prestigiado foi realizado na Líbia em colaboração com uma instituição global de destaque. Estamos orgulhosos de ter contribuído para essa conquista, que demonstra nosso compromisso inabalável com o avanço da educação médica e a promoção da excelência profissional em todo o país.

Seria mais prático se os candidatos pudessem usar seus próprios computadores e se fosse disponibilizada uma ajuda financeira para os centros de teste.
