Founded in 1928, the Turkish Ophthalmological Association (TOA) is the leading professional organization representing ophthalmologists in Türkiye. Dedicated to advancing eye care, TOA supports excellence in ophthalmology through education, training, research, certification, and public health initiatives.

The Association delivers resident education, continuing professional development, scientific congresses, live surgery symposia, and practical hands-on training across the country. Through its Certification Board, TOA also promotes high educational standards by delivering specialist examinations aligned with international benchmarks and accrediting ophthalmology residency programs.

As a valued partner of the Ophthalmology Foundation, TOA works alongside leading international organizations to strengthen ophthalmology education, encourage collaboration, and improve patient care both within Türkiye and across the wider region
