We are proud to announce the David and Molly Pyott Foundation Travel Grant 2025 recipient, Dr. Gebreabzgi Gebrekidan! Dr. Gebrekidana is from Rwanda and earned the highest passing score on the Clinical Ophthalmology Examination in 2025.

Achieving the highest score on the Ophthalmology Foundation Clinical Exam was a significant milestone that validated my dedication to the field of ophthalmology. Receiving this news filled me with profound joy and gratitude—not only for the recognition but also for the opportunities it presents. With this grant, I can attend international conferences where I aim to deepen my understanding of the latest advancements and network with esteemed professionals in our field. I am excited about the pathways this award opens and how it will enhance my contributions to patient care in ophthalmology. I took the exam while working in a high-volume ophthalmology setting, and I appreciated that most of the questions were based on real clinical practice scenarios. The exam was demanding, thoroughly addressing clinical knowledge in a structured and systematic manner. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Ophthalmology Foundation team for their efforts in creating a global platform for ophthalmologists and residents to learn and grow. I encourage my fellow colleagues to take this exam and embrace the opportunities it offers. I am deeply grateful for this honor and proud to be a Fellow of the International Ophthalmology Foundation (FIOF), contributing to this vibrant global community.
